Good News: What's in the works for 2021?

We recap five of Good Housing's biggest developments for 2020/21. Read all about it.

There’s no doubt 2020 was one for the books.

What with a global pandemic... unprecedented weather shifts... and more than a couple of breaking news items thrown in for good measure.

In what would serve as Good Housing’s formative year; 2020 also welcomed a period of great growth, wherein businesses the world over (Good Housing included) could ultimately pause, pivot and re-assess their goals, cultivating new plans and provisions for the months and years to come.

2021, likewise, started with a bang (and we’re not just talking about the NYE fireworks, though they certainly assisted). After a restful Christmas break, the team at Good Housing were eager to kick off their second year in action, hitting the ground sprinting with not one but multiple new ventures.

Here, we recap five of our biggest (and most exciting!) developments to have emerged thus far. A good job indeed.

1. Lilly Pilly, Dee Why:

In case you missed it, our newest smart home, Lilly Pilly is officially under construction, with a scheduled completion date of September 20, 2021!

Nestled amid Sydney's Northern Beaches (because, who doesn't crave a sea change?), Lilly Pilly is a suite of five 1-bedroom villas, offering our tenants the independence, privacy and comfort they deserve.

What's more? Lilly Pilly also offers both independent and shared living options, granting tenants the option to socialise in common indoor and outdoor areas including a ground level, backyard deck - perfect for soaking up those afternoon rays!

Each villa boasts a modern interior, spacious kitchen, large private bedroom (complete with ensuite) and an array of customisable accessibility options including ramp access, automated benches, wide doorframes/pathways and ceiling hoists.

2. Red Robin and Blue Gum, Hornsby:

In yet more exciting news... Our first homes in Hornsby, namely Red Robin and Blue Gum, are now entering their final stages of concept design as our designers, architects and builders work tirelessly to ensure all property aspects adhere to the NDIS' SDA Design Standards - while meeting the needs and preferences of all our future tenants.

While you'll have to wait (a little longer) for the final completion dates, we can happily reveal that both Red Robin and Blue Gum will encompass five 1-bedroom villas (each of which fall under the Robust design category) and four additional Garden Apartments for High Physical Support (HPS) and Fully Accessible (FA) tenants.

So, be sure to watch this space!

3. Mount Colah welcomes its first tenants!

As our housing portfolio continues to flourish, we're happy (nay, ecstatic!) to report that two of our amazing tenants are now safe and settled in their very own smart villas.

Custom built for their physical, mental and emotional requirements (and in keeping with the NDIS mandated SDA Design Standards), these happy, healthy homes mark a welcome respite from our tenants' former dwellings; individually configured and styled to suit their respective needs and personalities.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out Episode 3 of our Good Story series, wherein our dynamic tenant, Kevin makes his move into Oak Tree, Mount Colah.

4. Welcome Banksia, Campbelltown:

While we're on the subject of exciting new developments... We're thrilled to announce our latest site purchase in Sydney's Greater Western Suburbs!

Welcome Banksia, Campbelltown; a soon-to-be designed suite of six Garden Apartments, each envisioned with our High Physical Support (HPS) and Fully Accessible (FA) tenants front of mind.

An exciting acquisition (and a sign of things to come!), we look forward to sharing more about this emerging project as and when it evolves.

5. …and two new developments in Sutherland!

Last, but certainly not least, we're thrilled to reveal one final addition to the Good Housing oeuvre, namely the purchase of our first site in the Sutherland Shire!

Set to comprise two bespoke dwellings, our Jacaranda and Jasmine villas, this project in the Jannali suburb of Southern Sydney has officially entered the all-too-vital planning phase, with construction set to take place later this year.

Could you see yourself or a family member living in one of our purposefully built smart homes? We'd love to hear from you! Express your interest in one of our established or emerging properties by emailing lily@goodhousing.com.au
